Jesus Figueroa, @Thisfunktional of ThisFunktional.com, talks with Filmmaker Rick Stanton about short film SPECTRUM.
“Spectrum” is the new short film from British writer/director Rick Stanton. The film stars BAFTA-winning actor Wunmi Mosaku (Loki, Deadpool & Wolverine & Black Mirror), Hasan Dixon (War Horse) with newcomer Steven Stanton in the lead role.
The film delivers an authentic portrayal featuring Steve and a supporting cast of untrained actors, all of whom are neurodivergent or on the autism spectrum.
"Spectrum" explores the life of Steve, played by Rick’s brother of the same name, a man with autism, as he navigates a world that often isolates him.
Along the way, Steve redefines what it means to be a superhero, facing challenges with courage, resilience, and deep humanity.
Through his journey, we witness the transformative power of acceptance and the untapped potential for greatness within every individual, no matter where they fall on the spectrum.
